Gasoline & Fire Never Mix

Help us spread the word. Most parents today say they handle gasoline more safely than their own parents did. Parents know that gasoline is extremely flammable and its vapors can explode. And they know that kids learn by example.

That’s why most parents don’t use gas to start fires. Help us make sure every parent knows.

I DON’T CARE THAT PEOPLE STARE AT MY SKIN. WHAT I HATE IS HOW I HURT MY FAMILY.

AUSTIN BAILIFF

GASOLINE BURN SURVIVOR

HE WAS JUST 14. IT STILL HURTS TO THINK HOW EVERYTHING CHANGED IN AN INSTANT. BUT I AM SO GRATEFUL HE SURVIVED.

TAMMY BAILIFF

MOTHER OF A GASOLINE BURN SURVIVOR

MOST PARENTS DON’T MIX GAS AND FIRE. BUT EVERY TIME I SEE A CHILD SERIOUSLY BURNED, I REMEMBER THERE ARE STILL PEOPLE TO REACH.

TOM HUFFORD

BOARD MEMBER, FIRE MARSHALS ASSOCIATION OF OKLAHOMA

I NEVER USE GASOLINE TO START FIRES. IT AMAZES ME THAT ANY PARENT WOULD. MY KIDS COPY EVERYTHING I DO.

LARRY DAVIS

FATHER OF TWO

I TREAT KIDS WHOSE PARENTS USE GASOLINE TO START BRUSH OR TRASH FIRES. MY SPECIALTY IS GRAFTING BURNED SKIN. I WISH PARENTS WOULD PUT ME OUT OF A JOB.

DR. JAMES JOHNSON

BURN SPECIALIST

IT HAPPENED AT A FAMILY PICNIC. A 9-YEAR-OLD WAS HELPING HIS PARENTS START A BBQ GRILL WITH GASOLINE. SEEING A CHILD BURNED LIKE THAT MAKES YOU MAD AND SAD.
